Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 7, 2026

1. Introduction

Maverick Real Estate ("Maverick Real Estate," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through maverickrealestate.ca (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you.

By using the Site or submitting a form to us, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the Site.

2. Who We Are

Maverick Real Estate is operated by Mav, a licensed realtor with eXp Realty ("the Brokerage"), serving buyers, sellers, and investors in Edmonton, Alberta and surrounding areas.

For the purposes of applicable privacy law, Maverick Real Estate is the organization responsible for the personal information collected through this Site.

3. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

When you fill out a form on the Site — such as the contact form or the free home buyer's guide request — we collect the information you choose to submit, which may include:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • Any details you share about your real estate needs, timeline, or budget

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs certain technical information when you visit the Site, including your IP address, browser type, device type, general location (derived from IP address), pages viewed, and referring website. This information is collected through standard web server logs and is used only for security, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting — not for advertising or profiling.

The Site does not currently use advertising cookies, analytics tracking pixels, or third-party marketing trackers. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated to describe the tools in use and your choices regarding them.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide the information, guides, or services you request
  • Communicate with you about buying, selling, or investing in real estate
  • Schedule and prepare for consultations
  • Send the free home buyer's guide and related follow-up communications, where you've requested it
  • Maintain records required for real estate transactions and regulatory compliance
  • Improve the Site and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations, including those of the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with the following categories of recipients, only as needed:

  • eXp Realty (our Brokerage): as required to facilitate a real estate transaction, maintain brokerage records, or comply with real estate licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Service providers: third parties that help us operate the Site and manage form submissions, such as our web hosting and form-processing provider, Netlify, Inc. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
  • Legal and safety purposes: where required to comply with a legal obligation, enforce our rights, or protect the safety of any person.
  • Business transitions: in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of business assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

Some of our service providers may process or store data outside of Alberta or Canada, including in the United States. Where this occurs, your information may become subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access by government authorities.

7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts, a third-party service, which may involve a request to Google's servers when the page loads. This is a standard part of how the Site displays typography and does not involve advertising cookies or personal profiling.

Our form-processing provider, Netlify, may use minimal technical cookies or hidden form fields for spam prevention (for example, to detect automated bot submissions). These are not used to track your browsing activity across other websites.

The Site does not currently use Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, or similar behavioral advertising or analytics tools. If we add any such tools in the future, we will update this section to describe them and, where required by law, provide a way for you to opt out.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information collected through the Site for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including maintaining records required by real estate regulation, responding to your inquiries, and complying with our legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymize it.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the personal information you share with us, including secure form transmission and access controls on our hosting and email accounts. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information you submit to us.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Withdraw your consent to future collection, use, or communication, subject to legal or contractual limits
  • Ask us to delete personal information we no longer need for a valid purpose
  • File a complaint with us, or with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, if you believe your privacy rights have been violated

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 15. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

12. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for adults seeking real estate services and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

This policy was last reviewed and published for Maverick Real Estate in 2026.
